I Sold Some MSTR Stock at $182

I already told everyone on Youtube and my Discord channel that I sold some MSTR shares at $182 the day before Q1 2026 earnings.

I got a lot of hate from the Youtube comments section plus a few of you either unsubbed or cancelled your newsletter subscription.

The truth is I didn’t sell ALL of my MSTR stock. I trimmed about 40% of my original position and moved the funds into STRC to collect the upcoming dividend payment.

Why I Trimmed My MSTR Postion

Here’s are a few reasons why I trimmed my MSTR position:

1. Bitcoin is in a Bear Market

The average Bitcoin bear market lasts around 1 year. We are currently only 7 months into the crypto bear market since the October 6th ATH. That means I expect any runups to get sold off until the bear market bottom probably sometime in September.

2. MSTR is Oversold on the Daily RSI Chart

Whenever MSTR enters overbought aras on the daily RSI, I expect MSTR stock to selloff and go down. This has happened consistently over the last few years if you follow the daily chart closely.

3. Michael Saylor and Phong Le Both Hinted at Selling BTC

Strategy’s Q1 2026 earnings call was the first time both Phong Le and Michael Saylor aggressively mentioned selling Bitcoin. Q4 2025 and Q1 2026 were both tough quarters for the company because Strategy lost $17.4 billion in Q4 2025 and $14.46 billion in Q1 2026.

The company cannot go much longer without selling some Bitcoin if crypto doesn’t turn around anytime soon. The first set of converts is due in 2027 plus Michael Saylor has a $1.4 billion STRC dividend obligation to pay.

4. Summertime is Historically Bearish for MSTR

As we approach summertime in the United States, I have to remind myself that this period of the year is historically bearish for MSTR.

5. US Stock Markets are at All-Time Highs so I expect a Mini Crash

The NASDAQ and SP 500% are trading at all-time highs while the Buffett Indicator sits well over 240%.

Berkshire Hathaway is sitting on over $400 billion in cash for a good reason. Stocks are getting expensive so I wouldn’t be surprised if the markets took a break over the next few months.

Sell in May and Go Away is a real thing and that’s why I decided to trim my MSTR position.
